Dear Lord Jesus,
I love You! You are my one and only Savior! Let this be heard! I want to be with You for eternity! Will I be with You for eternity? Out of all my friends and family I will always love my Heavenly Father the most! I will always try to share Your word, because I am in love with You! How can You be so good to me? Especially when I doubt myself and You. Why do You give me unconditional love? I don't understand You but You are not for me to understand, just to obey! What sometimes I struggle with is I don't understand myself. I try to understand others and try helping them understand me. Will I ever have mutual understanding with another person of You? I understand myself a little bit, but I search to understand You more although I shouldn't. I want You by my side every second of every minute of every hour of every day of every week of every month of every year of every decade and so on. I am crazy about You! I am a Jesus freak! Proud of You! What should I say or do to glorify Your name and shine in Your light at my peers? You are my only strength that will always be by my side. I love You and always will, because You have always been by my side since day one and will always stay by my side even when I am running You are right there running too. I desperately desire for the world of all nations to know Your great and glorious name!
In Jesus name,
Your princess HLW
Amen!

RE: What Faith Can Do by Kutless
Kutless, who has been a band since 2000, has a great attitude and likes great meaning in their songs. Kutless adds allusion to the Bible by talking about when Jesus walked on water and how He performs miracles still today. Kutless’ song “What Faith Can Do” is very poetic because it has many literary devices. Kutless is a very poetic band. They like to use hyperbole, alliteration, imagery, similes, and symbolism. The song “What Faith Can Do” is very catchy because of its poetic elements. The poetic elements of “What Faith Can Do” help it do draw people into faith. It helps people to want to know more about faith.
The symbolism in “What Faith Can Do” is a very important element. It shows how people are scared to take a step in faith because faith is believing without seeing. A good example of this in the song is when it says, “Everybody’s scared to death when they decide to take that step out on to the water.” The fear of not knowing what truth is can only be healed by God, which is a good note of what faith can do.The only way you can walk on water is if you have faith in God that you will not sink to the bottom. In the Bible it talks about when Jesus walked on water 3 different times. Verses included are Matthew chapter 14:21-23, Mark chapter 6:44-46. Also the whole Chapter of John 6 talks about when Jesus walked on water. It shows that we too can do things Christ did if only we have faith in the father like He did.
The imagery in this song is beautiful. “Don’t you give up now, the sun will soon be shining, you gotta face the clouds to find the silver lining,” says Jon-Micah Sumrall. To me those lyrics perfectly paint a sunset in my head. But this sunset isn’t just any sunset, it’s a sunset after a storm. This sunset has the clouds in it and the sun setting to the bottom of the clouds and just shining through.
The hyperbole in this song is strong. “I’ve seen dreams that move the mountains,” sings Jon-Micah Sumrall and it shows just how strong faith can be but it’s a bit exaggerated. A dream itself can’t really move the mountains, you can dream that the mountains have been moved, but for mountains to move the need forces. You yourself can’t really move the mountains and certainly your dreams can’t do it either but its kind of a metaphor to show that some people have extremely strong faith and it helps those people through their lives.
Kutless does an amazing job at portraying that anything is possible through God alone, through having the great poetic elements that they have in their song “What Faith Can Do.” The vocals add sincerity and the instrumentals add an uplifting joy that can move you to be more faithful. They know greatly how to portray “What Faith Can Do” through hyperbole, imagery, and symbolism.
RE: The Motions by Matthew West
Matthew West, a Christian artist since 2003 has overcome many obstacles. He has had many trials and tribulations that have made him the strong person he is in his faith today. Matthew West had a surgery in 2008 that could’ve changed his whole career. He could’ve become mute, but God has great plans for Matthew West. He can now sing again and is going to do a new album inspired by life stories of people that email him. Matthew West’s song “The Motions” was written when he found out he may become mute, but never performed until after he had his surgery. “The Motions” is a good song because it has elements of repetition, universal relevance, and motif.
The repetition of this song plays a strong role because it explains that he really means what he’s saying. Matthew West wrote, “ I don’t wanna go through the motions/I don’t wanna go one more day without Your all consuming passion inside of me/I don’t wanna spend my whole life asking, ‘What if I had given everything, instead of going through the motions?’” The repetition shows that he means that he doesn’t want to live life, living and not knowing what he really could’ve done for God. He truly believes God has done so much for him so he wants to do the small bit he can to give back to God.
The universal relevance of this song is very strong. No one wants to live life being depressed all the time. People want happiness and to Matthew West, he doesn’t want to go through the motions because he wants to live a happy eternal life with the One he knows can make him happy. Everybody wants to feel something real. “I don’t care if I break at least I’ll be feeling something,” sings Matthew West. He shows that he wants to feel, he wants change for his life, he wants to feel the strength of God. He knows the devil will attack him more, but he chooses to stand up for God.
In this song it’s as though he has two chorus’ because he does the “I don’t wanna go” as a chorus but he also does the line “take me all the way” eight different times throughout the song. He wants to show that, that’s what hes really feeling, he wants God to take him all the way. Matthew West doesn’t want to compromise, he wants to give all he has to God. This is the motif in the song.
This song is a great song because Matthew West has great writing technique and style. He outwardly expresses what is in his heart. The instruments are mastered and he vocalizes this song beautifully. This is one of Matthew West’s biggest hits because he did and awesome job at writing this song and giving it poetic elements and feeling.
RE: I Will Rise by Chris Tomlin
Chris Tomlin is a big part of many charities that implement following Christ. “I Will Rise” by Chris Tomlin, released in 2008, is a great song because he uses many literary devices and he knows how to put music to his lyrics in a manner that makes the lyrics stick in your head after listening to the song. Chris Tomlin uses a pervasive mood, an original point of view, and alliteration. He implements these things to have the song catch people’s attention to try to help them rise up and do the right thing.
Chris Tomlin has an original point of view in his song “I Will Rise”. He wrote “I Will Rise” himself and wanted to implement his true feelings to God and for the world to see his true feelings to God. He talks about when Jesus overcame the grave and how God will rise us up so long as we have faith in Him and do our best to worship Him in our every move. When Chris Tomlin says, “There’s a day that’s drawing near, when the darkness breaks to light, and the shadows disappear and my faith shall be my eyes”, that puts a great image in my head that’s originally what God put in Chris Tomlin.
The alliteration in “I Will Rise” isn’t very strong without the meaning behind the lines. Chris Tomlin says, “There’s a peace I’ve come to know/Though my heart and flesh may fail/There’s an anchor for my soul/I can say ‘It is well’” and to me that shows how he has strong afflictions from God. These lines have so much meaning and the alliteration brings more strength to them.
The pervasive mood in “I Will Rise” in the fact that its loving and wants to show the love of Jesus and how He did die on the cross so we can live with Him in heaven forever. “And I will rise when He calls my name/No more sorrow, no more pain/ I will rise on eagles’ wings/Before my God fall on my knees/And rise/I will rise” is the last verse of the song and it makes me desire to strive to be more like Christ.
Chris Tomlin wants others to rise with him. He does a good job at inspiring others to rise up and lets joy be his strength.

My Grandpas
MY GRANPAS
My grandpa Dean
Was always there for me
His hugs were sweet and tenderly
My grandpa Poppy
He was someone I adore
I wish he lived right next door
They both were loving
Both kind and sweet
My grandpas you want on your street
Sad if you never met them
They gave us a kiss and said good-bye
Every-one in the room had a tear in their eye
On March 23rd 2004
My grandpa Poppy was no more
So the coroner took him out the door
On March 25th 2004
The bagpipes played “Amazing Grace”
While he was put into his resting place
On April 22nd 2004
After my mom and grandpa Dean said their good-byes
My grandmother gently closed his eyes
On April 27th 2004
All the stories I heard were to my surprise
I had to wipe the tear drops from my eyes
A Day for the Lord
A Day For The Lord
A day to recognize Him for his love
A day to revise ourselves for above
Today not to cry, to rejoice on high
Today to pray, not to totally sigh
A day to see God, our wonderful Lord
A day to be God’s child, not to hoard
Today to do math, not be under His wrath
Today for taking the Lord’s Holy bath
Life for Him, not to have a Holy grin
Life for Jesus, live for Him, not for sin
Life to give more lifes to Jesus abroad
Life to have all chances for my dear God
Life for God, to live all days for His Son
Live life for him, cause soon it will be done.

Just Smile
Just Smile
Just remember to...
Smile at all the little things
Like people who can't wait in line,
A room that's only half dirty,
Or a problem that isn't mine.
Smile at all those small things
All the ones that walk to slow,
Or the people that ask for the answers
To the things they should already know.
Smile at all the moments
Where someones voice is a little to high,
Smile for all of the loved ones,
Who just seem to make you cry.
Smile for all the stupid things
The stuff that slows you down.
It's all the crazy messed up things that makes this world go round.
Your Heart
Your Heart
Brother realize, just realize
It is not good, not good in anyone’s eyes
The thing is
That all she wants is your p-wiz
She doesn’t love
She doesn’t show her heart like a dart in the middle of the score chart
Shut your ears to the doors of her lies
Why do you wear your heart like a dart in the middle of the score chart?
Why oh why do you love?
Warning
Warning
He deserves way better than you
Just rid yourself from his life
Like a flowers petals wither away from their stem
I’m so sick
So sick of the way you’re able to walk in and out whenever you please
Sometimes we wish you were gone
So our battle would be won
But that too would hurt him
So we just put on a grin
But he’s done
Done being hurt and pushed in the dirt
One day he’ll be done with you
And finally we will too
Be done with you
This is the last call
Of your forewarning
